The Mazda3 was the last model in the 2022 lineup to receive the blacked-out Carbon Edition update. It is now available in sedan and hatchback body styles, with dark interior accents. The exterior is painted Polymetal Gray, and the seats are upholstered in red leather. Mazda incorporates black exterior elements such as door mirror caps, grilles, and wheels. The Carbon Edition retains features from the mid-tier Preferred trim. The 12-speaker Bose stereo system stands out among the vast array of technologies for its exceptional entertainment qualities. Aside from these, the 2022 Mazda3 gets a Platinum Quartz Metallic paint job.
The new Hatchback 2.5 S Carbon Edition shares its underpinnings with the mid-level Mazda3 2.5 S Preferred trim, including the naturally aspirated 2.5-liter Skyactiv engine with 186 horsepower and 186 pound-feet of torque. The engine is paired with a six-speed automatic transmission and only drives the front wheels. However, over the lower trims, the Carbon Edition adds a 12-speaker Bose premium audio system with aluminum speaker grilles, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and heated front seats.
