Is the 2021 Mazda CX-5 a safe vehicle to operate?

When looking for a new vehicle, it’s crucial to know whether or not a car, truck, or SUV is doing the most to make sure you are as safe as possible behind the wheel. At Gaithersburg Mazda, we take pride in knowing that our vehicles come equipped with top-of-the-line safety features that ensure the safety of everyone riding in one of our vehicles. Below, we want to highlight what safety technologies come standard in the 2021 Mazda CX-5, starting with the blind spot monitoring system.

2021 Mazda CX-5 – Blind Spot Monitoring

One of the first features that we want to highlight when it comes to safety features that come with the 2021 Mazda CX-5 is blind-spot monitoring. With this system on and ready to go, drivers can get an audio and visual warning of when vehicles or other objects enter that dreaded blind spot on either side of their vehicle. It will continue to let you know there is something there until it is safe to make a lane change.

2021 Mazda CX-5 – Rear Cross-Traffic Alert

Another convenient safety feature that comes with the 2021 Mazda CX-5 is the rear cross-traffic alert system. When backing out of your driveway or a parking spot, the rear cross-traffic alert system will send an audio or visual message if a vehicle or object is approaching from either direction. If the system senses a collision is imminent, it can even apply the brakes for you.

2021 Mazda CX-5 – Radar Cruise Control

While on the highway, the CX-5 features radar cruise control. Not only does this work as a normal cruise control where you set your designated speed, but it also maintains a safe distance away from vehicles in front of you. So, if the vehicle in front of you brakes or slows down, so will your vehicle.

2021 Mazda CX-5 – Smart Braking Systems

The 2021 Mazda CX-5 also comes with smart braking systems that work at high rates of speed, low rates of speed, and while driving in reverse. If the braking systems detect that a collision is near, this system will automatically gently apply the brakes for you to keep you and other drivers on the road safe.
